  • Hello,

Shouldn't be some guidlines on what qualifiels as a feature length brickfilm; like the length of the brickfilm must be more than 3o minutes long to qualify this criteria. Or something similair. I was just curious.

I hope to hear from you soon.

    regards,

    The Warlord.   [1]

  • Are you aware of the video Star Trek: The Lego Generation? It was made in 1994.

Anyway, that's all I needed to say.

    Have a good day.

  • Why had you deleted my pages without telling me? I saw the against policy banners, and I asked another admin if I couldkeep the pages, but not violate the policy anymore. No one told me anything.

  • Hi Sillypenta! I noticed you had flagged my page for Notability. Bummer! I just wanted to bring up some things that make me notable.

My BrickFilm's have been in 9 film festivals worldwide. They've also won 6 awards. Addition to the festivals and awards, they've also won on a few BrickFilms.com contests hosted by users.

My BrickFilm Life Of Savings was the first BrickFilm to win the Light's, Camera, Save! national competition. Earning me $5,250 and a paid trip.

I feel as if I'm notable enough to have my page stay. Do I have thousands of views and subscribers? No. I'm busy in film festivals, letting the world see my films and don't worry about views. Thank you.

  • Hey there! Thanks for fixing some things on the Brickfilming is Just Awesome page. I have a question though, why did you change the picture to a smaller version? I realize that the image I uploaded had small black bars on the top and bottom of the frame, but that is the way the film was made (I downloaded it from YouTube and took a frame out of it). Your image is much smaller. I'm not opposed to removing the bars, but maybe you should have uploaded over my image instead of having a dumplicate.

    Just wondering. ;)

    • This is an interesting point. Previously we have removed black bars but if the film is made that way then maybe they could be kept. As for the size, I just downloaded your image and cropped the bars and as far as I can tell it is almost the exact same size and not much smaller.

    • I'll restore the original image then, if that's ok with you. ;)

As for the size, yours is much smaller than mine. Compare:

      Awesome.png - Yours is 1000x549

      BrickfilmingIsJustAwesome.png - Mine is 1280x720

    • Ah, I see. Must have been due to saving it from the image viewer. On that note though, I think Boats has mentioned very large images slowing down pages so I wouldn't say it's imperitave to use the biggest possible resolution, especially since they appear small enough infobox.

I'm afraid that boats is incorrect. Wiki uses a dynamic thumbnail system, which, like the name implies, creates smaller versions (or thumbnails) of every image when the full size is not needed. That is how you downloaded a smaller version of the image. You downloaded a thumbnail.

Here's an example of a thumbnail:

      BrickfilmingIsJustAwesome.png

As you can see when opening it, it's a 212x119 image, instead of the original 1280x720 image. It's actually a separate image. So the user will only have to download the small image on the specific wiki page instead of the entire image (unless they click on it and open the raw file) It doesn't matter what image size you upload, if Wikia says it's too big, don't upload it, but always try to upload the best version of the image you can. For another example of thumbnails, Rockydude uploaded a small version of the Bricks in Motion logo (taken from the other/older brickfilming wiki) and put it on the Bricks in Motion page. I replaced that with an image that was much larger and clearer.

Sorry, that got a little long, but I guess you get the point. ;)
