Brickstars is an annual brickfilming contest and awards ceremony that started on Brick à Brack in 2009. The contest originally rewarded the best brickfilms of the French community from within each year. Brickstars 2018 to 2021 rewarded an equal number of French and international brickfilms. Following Brick à Brack's acquisition of Brickfilms.com and subsequent merging into Brickfilms.com by Brick à Brack, Brickstars began ranking all films together.
Any member of the site can enter a brickfilm made in the current year, with the deadline being the end of December 31. Members of the website can propose themselves as a judge, and some judges are chosen by the staff. The films were previously judged in multiple categories, but are now instead sequentially ranked. Physical prizes have been given to the winners since 2013.
Les Brickstars 2009[]
The first edition of the Brickstars was hosted in 2009 and was announced by Robin "Parod" Blaisot on October 11. The contest received either 12[1] or 13[2] entries.

The judging panel consisted of "Pendragon", "tapetonpseudo", Rémi "R-creator" J., "guiguidu591010", "Liquidus-Snake" and "vicas999".[3] The results were posted by Alexis "CRAMproduction" Renaux on January 2, 2010.[2]

Brickstars 2018[]
Brickstars 2018 was announced by Maxime Baconnais on December 1, 2018. The entire format of the competition was reworked, so that instead of having multiple categories, it would only have the category of Best Brickfilm. The contest awarded 20 films total, with a top 10 for French brickfilms and a top 10 for international brickfilms. This change was made to allow more brickfilms to be celebrated and for prizes to go to more brickfilmers, as previously the same small handful of the best films would win most categories and receive multiple prizes each.[29][30]
