Derrick is playing video games. Alex, wearing a backpack, heads for the door, saying "Be right back." Derrick barely acknowledges him.

Five years later, Derrick is still playing video games. The apartment is completely different, with new furniture, flooring and walls. Alex enters and Derrick excitedly gets up to greet Alex, saying "Where have you been?" Alex, through montage, recounts the entire five years in about a minute. Alex applied for college, got accepted, moved on campus, got a roommate, met advisers, went to classes, worked on projects, made new friends, met a girl, studied hard, graduated, moved in with his girlfriend, got engaged, struggled to find a job, got dumped by his girlfriend, lived in his car, hit the gym, got a job interview, and got hired.

Derrick plays Minecraft

Alex asks what Derrick has been up to. Derrick reluctantly admits he mostly played video games the whole time, and also uploaded Minecraft videos to Alex's YouTube Channel, leading to a dramatic loss of subscribers. Alex is annoyed, but is glad to be back. Alex and Derrick high-five in mid-air, and Nathan Wells slides in on his knees, playing a guitar. Derrick asks, "Who the crap are you?"[2]
